Detox Day 10

WOW I can’t believe that the 10 days are over. It went really fast and was pretty easy. I feel so much better than I did 10 days ago. I have more energy, I am sleeping better, I am not craving sweets. In fact I just went into the kitchen to look for something and looked at all I had in my kitchen and decided that I really didn’t need a snack. I just took a glass of water instead.

I have noticed my skin is clearer and brighter. I do not feel blotted in fact I feel lighter. I even lost 2 ponds, nice little bonus!

I am so glad I did this detox. It was exactly what I need to get myself eating better and feeling wonderful.

Detox Days 8 & 9

Day 8

I felt really good yesterday.  I wasn’t very hungry and I didn’t have that afternoon crash.  When I did get hungry I found myself wanting food and not just sweets.  That was nice!
 Day 8 menu
Breakfast – Green smoothie
Lunch was a BIG salad
Dinner was Brown Rice with Portabella mushrooms stir fry.
snacked on a whole lot of kale chips.
Day 9
Today I feel really good my energy is the best it’s been in quite a while.  I slept really good last night. Again no afternoon crash, no sweet cravings.  While I was food shopping today I walked past the baked goods and noting even looked good to me.  I really just wanted an apple!  Tomorrow is day 10 I am going to keep the good habits I have regained over the past few days. I am not going back on the over processed foods.  I  plan on staying off unrefined sugar as well.  I hope I can keep my sweet tooth in check.  Only time will tell.
Day 9 menu
Breakfast – green smoothie
Lunch – BIG salad
Dinner butternut squash and spinach
Snack – Hummus on Brown Rice cakes.

Detox Days 6&7

Well Days 6 &7 are done.  I had a good amount of energy and I hae been sleeping great.  But most importantly I have ot been very hungry.  I haven’t been craving swets and I haven’t needed that lateafternoon pick me up.
I was watching The Food Network today and anytime I watch it I end up in the kitchen grabbing food wether or not I am hungry.  Today I was watching it and I never once got up to eat anything.  I really hope that once the detox is over I have been some of my sugar cravings.  We will see how it goes.
Day 6 menu
Breakfast – shake and apples
Lunch – brussel spouts and mixed greens.
Dinner _ Herd roasted Cauliflower and mixed greens.
Day 7
 Wasn’t very hungry sort of grazed all day on apples and mixed greens.
Tomorrow I start to add food back in to my diet so stay tuned on how that goes.

Detox Day 5

Sorry I didn’t post yesterday but the evening got away from me.  Yesterday was good.  I was barely hungry all day.  I had a good amount of energy (for a rainy Friday when you’d rather be under the covers)  But I felt  good.  My food choices for the next few days are limited but the shake that comes with the program does keep you full.  As much as my choices are limited  the quantity of food is not so If I want to eat a whole bag of apples I can.  (I didn’t BUT I could).
Day 5 menu
Breakfast- Metagenics shake and an apple
Lunch – was a big bowl of spring mix greens.
Dinner roasted brussel spouts and some more greens.
I’ll keep you posted on how I am doing all weekend.

Detox Day 4

Day 4 went really well.  I feel really good.  I was a little tired but for the most part I had more energy then I had all week.  I am a little worried about the next few days my food choices get really restricted but I think it will be fine.  I did notice that I wasn’t hungry today.  I had no cravings at all.  My usual late afternoon sugar craving never happened.  I didn’t once head to the kitchen to snack.  I will admit that snacking and sugar cravings are my biggest problems.  I hope this detox can cure the desire for both. I guess only time will tell.

Today menu

Breakfast – Green smoothie

Lunch -Crispy Chickpeas wih a tossed salad.

Dinner – Orange peppers stuffed with hummus.

Snacked on Kale Chips, apple and grapes

I hope tomorrow goes as smoothly as the the last few days have gone.

Detox Day 3

Today was day 3 and it went MUCH better than I thought it would.  I had more energy then I had yesterday and my head wasn’t as clogged.  The main thing I think I love about this detox was that I was able to attend a lunch meeting and eat a fabulous meal and still stay on program.  Tomorrow will be a little more restrictive in what I can eat but I know it will be fine.
Today’s Menu:
Breakfast yes another Green Smoothie.
Lunch Italian Vegetable primavera
Dinner Rice and Beans (leftovers are a wonderful thing!)
It was a long day and I was able to keep my energy up for most of it but now I must get to bed.

Detox Day 2

Today I admit I was a  little tired and run down.  My head was a little stuffy and nose a little running  but I am sure it is’ all of the toxins escaping my body.  Good riddance!
Despite feeling blah I still enjoyed some great food today.
Breakfast was a green smoothie (I have one EVRY morning)
Lunch was Brown Rice and Pinto Beans.
Dinner was Sesame Tamari Tofu with Broccoli over coconut basmati rice.
I  Hope I will have more energy tomorrow!

Detox Day 1

Today was the first day of my detox.  It went really well.  I got to eat amazing food and I feel good.                                                                  

For breakfast I had a yummy green smoothie with banana, strawberry and kale.

Lunch was a brown rice vegetable sushi roll and a BIG salad.

I snacked on some carrots and hummus as well as Kale chips.

Dinner was a tofu and veggie sir fry.

I can’t wait to see how I feel tomorrow.

 

Detox Starts Tomorrow

 

 

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer.  If you had a summer anything like mine it was full of fun and some no sot good for you meals.  But starting tomorrow I go back to

my usual healthy eating habits.  The best way I know how to fix what I did over the summer is to detox.  This will gently get back to eating whole unprocessed, unrefined real foods.  It is also a great way to help you transition to a healthy more natural diet.

It is a 10 Metabolidetox  and I will be posting every night to let you know how I am doing.

Low fat Crust-less Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients
2-1/2 cups Light Extra Firm Tofu
3/4 cup honey, rice syrup or agave nectar 
1 Can Pumpkin Puree
3 tsp. pure vanilla extract
Pumpkin Pie Spice to taste
 
Place tofu into a food processor or blender and process until smooth
Add pumpkin, honey and vanilla and blend until smooth.  Place in dessert dishes. Chill at least 4 hours or overnight. Serve well chilled to allow the flavors to blend fully.
